From humble beginnings at Scott's "home office" in 1999, the agency expanded deliberately one small step at a time. It started in Commercial Property and casualty insurance with a focus on the biggest expense for most business: Workers Compensation insurance. We pursued and obtained several direct mono-line Workers Compensation insurance company appointments as well as joining an insurance cluster for other lines.
IN 1999 we joined the PIA, The Professional Insurance Agents Association.
ALSO IN 1999 an American Interstate appointment was obtained that allowed us to use our extensive expertise to write larger, more complex and difficult-to-place business.
IN LATE 1999 the agency was appointed to represent NC Mutual Employers Fund. This is one of two self-insured funds that served the unique needs of some of our clients.
As TheWCmarketplace.com gained more mono-line Workers Compensation markets, other agencies came to us for Workers Compensation for their clients. Thus we became a market of choice for over 50 small agencies.
IN JANUARY OF 2000 we were able to get a mono-line Workers Compensation appointment with AIG.
DURING 2000 we were able to access over 50 insurance companies through several managing general agents. The insurance companies include St. Paul, Fireman's Fund, Liberty Mutual and Travelers.
IN JANUARY OF 2001 the first clerical help was hired part-time. This was a high school girl that was a friend of the family that we knew from church.
Throughout the years my wife Adrianne, assistant manager and my 2 children have been very supportive and have helped build the business as needed. Adrianne has helped in the many managerial decisions. Mark has been my computer guy. He solves all of our computer "problems".
LATE IN 2002 a direct appointment with Zurich Ins. Co. was awarded.
IN 2002 a new Workers Compensation carrier was started by several people I worked with at Berkshire Hathaway. I was one of their first online agents.
IN 2003 we were able to get a contract with Westport Ins. Co.
IN APRIL 2003 we hired my first full-time customer service agent.
IN JANUARY 2004 we re-opened the "home office" to take care of our customers during winter storms.
IN FEBUARY 2004 we joined the Better Business Bureau.
ON MAY 10, 2004 we placed in the top 10 Performers by Westport Insurance Company.
Late 2008 we re-invented our business to be a cutting-edge, server-based, paperless office that can have service personnel operate from various locations including mobile.
Late 2010 we gained access to Dallas National Ins. Co. online Workers Compensation product.
Early 2011 we joined Market Source to gain access to several more carriers to offer more products at competitive pricing.
Late 2011 we added a quick-quote indication tool with 4 options.
JUNE 2013 we added SC and ability to apply online.
As we continue to grow, we thank the Lord Jesus Christ for His blessings and taking us through the storms (and there have been storms). While many of our competitors have disappeared, we have remained a solid agency, serving our customers with excellence.
